Andrea Bamford

My personal story

Faith, Family, Travel

My name is Andrea Bamford and I am from Northern California. I come from a large Christian family and have been a believer since the age of five. During college, I had the opportunity to travel to Uganda and help build a church, which ignited a desire in me to return to Africa. I got that chance when I was asked to join a team going to Sierra Leone for a week. I ended up going yearly for three years, until the Covid pandemic put a stop to it.

After graduating, I joined my family's business in olive oil, which had to be shut down due to the California fires burning the water supply system. I took this as an opportunity to leave the family business and go into ministry. To equip myself for ministry, I signed up for online classes with Liberty University and got an apologetics degree. I then joined a training program in Ireland, where I worked in a church and helped with surf camps. Now I have joined a missions agency called UWM and I am looking to go back to Uganda and disciple young women and children.
